Pangur let a soft exhale fall from her jaws, with it, the heaviness that still hung in her heart. She pulled a paw up from the water once more to wipe at any last stains that might've stubbornly remained. His praise meant the world to her, evident in the flustered pull back of her ears, and the sheepish grin that found itself sneaking its way across her features.
She never doubted the gods, not even when they took from her; she hoped that what he said was true, that they saw heart, strength, and devotion. Every step she took, one motivated by a will to live up to such values. No longer only for them nor for herself, but for Forneskja and all the wolves she had come to love with all her being.
