her steps were swift at first, bounding from energy rooted deep in her paws. she bolted about like a hare being chased, never sprinting in a straight line for too long before cutting off in a different direction. playful, lively, she let playful laughter bubble up from her throat. 

after a time she slowed her pace ever so slightly, hoping, praying, that her companion might run alongside her. velia danced about wistfully, waiting until just the right moment when the woman came near enough to wrap tan paws around her and drag both of them to the bedded floor of snow below in a fit of spirited cheer.
