Stavanger Bay that I get

A light greeting reaching his ears, his head turned to spot the source. A woman, a girl in his eyes, who looked about the age of his own children. She seemed safe enough, so he stopped to allow her to approach.

His tail flicking upwards, he decided to propose a simple question. Are you from a surrounding territory? He asked. From the scents in the air he could tell that the coast had a pack or two settled, and likely a few loners or smaller groups as well. This could be one of them; but then again, if he was imposing on her territory he imagined that she would be a bit more outwardly aggressive.
