Neverwinter Forest soothe

for a moment, he is worried raedwulf will step from the pools and leave for good. a troubling thought, both for how it makes him feel and how it should not affect him the way it does. lips pulled into a frown, the healer steps closer, cutting through the water with ease. 

he stays. cicero exhales a breath he hadn't realize he'd been holding. raedwulf both speaks and gestures, and cicero is a smart enough man to connect the dots. cataloguing each word in the back of his mind. feeling hopeful that one day, he and raedwulf could speak to one another and understand. 

"frēond," he echoes with a slight rasp. his heart stutters as the warrior turns to face him again, looking down upon him with eyes that make him feel flighty but seen. pools of chocolate that might have sparked with the faintest warmth. 

"friend." cicero smiles. it's small and fleeting, but it's true. "you wish to be my friend?"
