Surprise settled over his features. Where they truly taken? Could Pala have taken the children only to be abducted by another pack? Regardless of what truly transpired, Noctaryn could only think of their well-being.

To Chaudry, his gaze conflicted, unsettled. "They are otherwise alright? Your mother was hoping to see them safely returned." Had Chaudry done enough in his plea for their return? Or, did he just give up, allowing the pack to do what they needed to do, so that he could return home to his only remaining child?

The what ifs were plenty, but none could be helped now. Now, Chaudry needed to collect his daughter and speak with Viskani. Something needed to be done.

Yet, he didn't know exactly what that something would look like. He was almost afraid to find out.
