Shiruyeh didn’t flinch as the fish landed near her paws, its silver scales flashing like ancient coin in the dusk. Her golden eyes flicked from the flopping creature to the smug grin carved across the mans face, the faintest tilt of amusement touching her lips.
„A monster, indeed,” she purred, circling the fish once, slow and graceful, as if appraising an offering made to a queen. „Though I expected more teeth... and a little less flailing.” Her gaze lifted to meet his, cool and radiant as the desert moon. The flick of his wet hand earned a soft laugh, low, honeyed, a sound that shimmered like heat off sunbaked stone.
„You boast like a prince and throw fish like a street-seller,” she teased, her tail swaying like a banner behind her. „But I suppose, for such effort…” A pause, deliberate. Her paw tapped the fish lightly, as though granting approval. „I’ll accept this prize.”
Then, eyes glinting with mischief: „But you are the one dripping, golden man. Perhaps it’s your feet that need drying.” She rose, stretching like a cat in the fading light. „Impress me again, and maybe I’ll get mine wet.”
