Two Eyes Cenote Where history and future meet

Sunset was coming for the land, and Odessia was looking forward to it. The moon would only be a sliver in the sky tonight, which meant it would be darker than usual. She enjoyed nights like that, where fewer could see her. Her paws ate up the ground beneath her, seeking water before nightfall, before she tucked herself in for the night.
When she caught the faint smell of water on the air, she followed it as naturally as she always had, unsurprised to find two others (one who introduced himself as Viper just as she was arriving) gathered at the slippery, muddy banks of the hole. She was not sure going down there was such a great idea now, and she balked at the steep slopes, her ears turning backward in both annoyance and slight fear at falling down into the watery pit.
Her water venture was a bust, and she turned her attention toward the other two after her brief glance at the water. The female was red with only one green eye, and she looked like she was staring at a graveyard. She also smelled of others, likely part of some nearby pack.
The other, Viper, appeared to be relatively healthy. He was a bit on the thin side, and he did not appear to have any obvious signs of disease or missing eyes. He was also making moves on the red wolf, and Odessia found herself immediately jealous. It would not behoove him to choose a mate with one eye.
"My name is Odessia," she interjected, placing herself between the two.
