The laugh startled Odessia, and her bladder decided it had had enough. She had soiled herself, covering her tail and hind end in urine. Now, on top of being petrified, she was also excruciatingly embarrassed. She wanted to crawl into the nearest log and live out the rest of her short, mute, piss-covered life there.
The other wolf gave her a name, and Odessia wondered how long it would take for the smell to reach Kirain. The question was turned back on her, and she so desperately wanted to answer, but her throat would not make the words.
Instead, she opened her mouth, then shook her head. She could not speak.
