In the end he rationalised that it wasn't his place to make such a call. Who knows whether that would make things better or worse and the last thing Peregrine needed was Fitz making things worse. Fitz had the role of a counsellor. This did not mean going off and fixing problems for others, unless he was asked.

Shaking off the problems for another day, Fitz headed back to his den. Hopefully to get some much needed rest.
