In recent weeks it seemed that the time for words had come, as for the first time Lyric was beginning to speak, and yell, and perform.

Wobbling about outside the den, Lyric intently watched his paws as he attempted to walk using only one half of his legs at a time - left moved together, then right. He was going nowhere fast but nonetheless seemed entranced by his new trick, repeating something that sounded like Bup bop bup, as he moved along. Not exactly words, but it was a step up from barking. Probably better than the barking. It had been a long few months of constant barking.
