Soon, the owner of the voice that Kira had heard could be seen from a distance. Kira returned his bark as he matched her pace until they were close enough to talk. She watched him curiously as he introduced himself.

"Peace be," Kira repeated as her own tail flicked, with excitement more than in greeting. "My name is Kira Lazore. It’s nice to meet you.”

She took a few steps closer, still curious as she wondered about this stranger. “I am not from here,” she told him.
