Moonspear diamonds in his pockets

Kira looked where Kindle had gestured. “It’s nice,” she said. “Where are you from then?”  She took another step forward, and Kindle spoke again. Another question. 

As he asked the question, he began to circle her. She allowed it, standing still and watching him.

What brought her out this way? Kira wondered the same thing. 

“I’ve been on my own for some time,” Kira said slowly, clearly hesitant to answer. “I got separated from my family. I’m not sure why I’m here specifically, though. Guess I’ve just been looking for a place to settle.”
