Nova Peak hangfire

Miska followed the smell, and, when a wild-haired youngster began to bob in and out of sight among the rocks, the stalking began in earnest. Distance and a favorable wind kept him hidden, and he did lose sight of the boy a few times on the way. When he found him again, it was a split second before the younger wolf disappeared into an old hole in the ground.

Miska waited on an outcropping of rock within sight of dark entrance, far enough up the mountain that pouncing would result in a  broken leg.

"Ssss! What treasure boy find?" the black wolf shouted, unaware and unbothered that he was ruining a moment.
