Bitterroot Valley seven long years

It was difficult for Angel to read tone while she was still familiarizing herself with another's accent. Too — she did notice that the other woman was not helping to mark the borders. She thought that Kasia must have felt awkward for some reason, or maybe she was just awkward in general.

So she did not realize that her new packmate was attempting to close the conversation.

"It's almost winter," she noted, as if in agreement, pausing to scratch her scent into the bark of a tree.

"Is the place you come from anything like this?" she asked then, looking around at the trees in general. Though there were superficial similarities between this and her birthplace, the lack of the sea nearby made all the difference.
