Chimera Fields one day

Hokulani was counting the days. Soon her little family could return to the coast, return to where they belonged.

The pups were old enough to follow her outside, and Hokulani could go on trips without them now that Seastorm was being taught the instincts that told Hokulani how to mother. But, they weren't ready for the full trip home. They were still too young, too fragile, too clumsy.

Lounging outside the den under the comfortable chill of snowfall, she stares ahead with little behind her eyes. The fields were too quiet, they lacked the comforting push and pull of the ocean that she had been taught to love.
