Unfortunately, leverage almost made things worse. It became clearer that Kindle had lost some faith in the process, and the care he was taking not to hurt her was more apparent. Still, he kept trying — and his guilt increased alongside his excitement, as their efforts were still stimulating, to him.
When she went lax, Kindle held in a sigh and forced his body to still. Frustration and grief warred with passion, mixing to form a strange cocktail that welled in his throat in the form of words.
He knew, suddenly, what he wanted to say.
