With a wrathful snarl, Peregrine gave her throat a violent shake, hoping to rip, tear and do as much damage as possible. Then he let go with a quiet gasp of breath and stepped back, saliva dripping from his bared fangs. He could have renewed his attack in an instant, yet for the moment, he stood over her, aware that he had every advantage at the moment. He could stand here and watch her die slowly or, at some point, hasten the process. It was entirely up to him, or so he felt.
