Redhawk Caldera Tread With Caution

The trespasser leaped to her feet with surprising speed and was hightailing it away from the caldera before Peregrine could blink. With a snarl of surprise, he took off after her, though he found the pounding of his paws exacerbated the pain in his neck to almost unbearable levels. Add to that the angry scratches on his underbelly, which similarly protested with movement, and the Alpha didn't run for long at all.

He watched her until she disappeared in the distance. His lip curled. He was upset that she'd thwarted him and escaped, yet at least he'd still taught her a lesson. Hopefully she would die of her injuries somewhere in the wilderness and Peregrine wouldn't have to worry about her one day producing more idiots like herself.

With a snort, the Alpha male turned and trotted back to the mountain's base. He was tempted to climb up to the caldera's rim and rest in the den. But there was still a patrol to start and finish. Walking slowly to avoid jarring his fresh injuries, he began to stalk his borderlands.
