He was pleased to have been able to deliver the news to Peregrine, and though his dark-coated friend didn't seem to have any direct queries at that very moment, Elwood listened as he mused about Tytonidae's mother. The Beta didn't know much about Peregrine's former mate -- and couldn't even recall her name, prompting him to wonder if he had ever known it in the first place -- but from what he had gathered from Summer, it didn't seem that she was still living at the Sunspire. That seemed like a bit of information that would have been important to share, had it been true.

He gave his head a small shake and said, "No, I don't think she's there. I feel like Summer would have mentioned her." This answer was provided despite the fact that Peregrine had likely posed a rhetorical question.
