Immediately the creature looked around and, seeing the large wolf (attempting to) creep up nearby, took off towards the nearest tree. Knowing it was lost, he made no move to follow, instead heaving a low breath of irritation. There had been little chance of him catching the little thing but still. It was the principle of it.

There had been a demanding edge to the unfamiliar call that didn't sit too well with Dante. He was a fairly easygoing guy, but he didn't know the caller, nor did they him. If they indeed wished to join then he would need to ensure proper respect was given.
