Darkside personally thought "Uh yeah." Outlaw muttered. Darkside realised how he may have insulted the wolf and dipped his head in apology.

And I want for Dogmeat to like me, so I can earn my place among us." Outlaw continued. Ahh, so he was also looking for a place in Dogmeat's gang.
