Set when Sebastian is in the North! :D Edit; @Peregrine or @Elwood , maybe? I believe Seb told them a bit about his dad.
Frankly, Burke was bored. The beta had not much to do after the three teenagers set of to Bearclaw Valley. There was no need to train Damien, look after Potema or see what Cicero was up to. The tank of a male was more than settled in Black Feather. He never thought of the fact that this would be his forever home, that he would find someone to love. Meldresi had been rather persistent with Burke's stubbornness. Burke knew he had an annoying 'son' that was showing his face to everyone close to him except Burke himself. The male grew agitated with it, and while he had told himself he wouldn't go look for the annoying fly that called himself Sebastian, Burke couldn't ignore the buzzing any longer.
The immensely large male stomped towards the Caldera. It was more than evident now where the male had been hiding himself, he was with their neighbors all along. It made sense. Some pack close yet not too close, Burke realized that it was something he could have thought of himself if he wanted to stalk someone. Infiltrate a neighboring pack, become a good functioning member and then face off the 'enemy'. Burke figured he was an enemy in the Fly's eyes. Meldresi told him that this Sebastian intended to kill him, or something like that. His 'son' had not been careful with his spying sessions because most of Burke's close friends reported back to him seeing this son of him. It didn't help that the younger male looked exactly like him.
Burke and Sebastian shared the same grey coat pattern. Burke might be getting a bit more lighter with each passing day. The only thing that kept them apart was Burke's docked tail and maybe because Burke didn't walk as avid as a young male would. The dark king reached the borders of his neighbors. He wasn't stupid enough to create a war by marching into their territory. His pale eyes scanned over the heavily scented border. Their message was clear no trespassers or guests, yet Burke did howl loudly for Sebastian to come forward and face him now.

As if the caldera wolves weren't protective enough, Elwood Jr's arrival really upped the ante. Peregrine doubled his hunting efforts and added in an extra patrol or two as well. It meant he didn't see as much of his mate, kids or Pan as he liked but it was important that he keep the newest member of his family (and the puppy's exhausted parents) safe and well-fed.
He was on a patrol when a howl rose up at the borders. He snarled sharply in response, his ears pinning backward. Peregrine broke into a run to intercept the wolf who dared to march up to his borders demanding an audience with his pack mate. Never mind the fact that Sebastian wasn't here; the Alpha would make it very clear how little he thought of strangers barking orders from his doorstep.
Of course, it gave him pause when the wolf turned out to look just like Sebastian, albeit slightly paler and with a bobtail. Perhaps this was the tank's infamous father then. Even less pleased now, the swarthy Alpha wolf hastened his step. Instead of bothering with words, he snapped his jaws and bristled. It was impossible to misread his body language, which said, You aren't welcome here.

Burke didn't need to wait long until a black wolf, greying like him, appeared. His body language was more than clear for Burke. Yet, the tank always kept his calm demeanor. He kept his ground and his docked tail up, he wasn't in their territory so to Burke he wasn't doing anything wrong. His pale eyes looked with heavy judgement at the other male. Burke wanted to know if this black one before him was protecting his lands or protecting the annoying fly called Sebastian. "Keep those snarls away, I am not here for you," he returned, sounding annoyed even baring his teeth a bit. But the male calmed down again. Burke knew he wasn't getting far with arrogance.
The large male calmed himself down again, his lip covering his teeth again and cleared his throat. "I came here to tell the annoying fly that is supposedly called Sebastian to back off from my life. Or if he wishes to be in it so badly, to come and face me instead of harassing everyone around me," he sounded definitely more put together.. His pale eyes glanced one more time over the other, probably the alpha or a higher ranked wolf. Burke heard from Kove that this young male was out for his blood, but there was always that bit of over exaggeration by some wolves. Burke still wanted to make sure he wasn't looking away from a fight. If this young male wanted to fight or kill him so badly then Burke wanted to see him try doing so. Burke was confident enough to know that this Sebastian would never win.

Idk how I missed this. :o
Fox had heard the call as well, but evidently, she'd been further away than Peregrine. It did not bother her. What did bother her was the fact that a stranger stood talking (calmly?) as Peregrine bristled and made his intentions clear. Fox had had it up to here with that business. What kind of wolf ignored those signals? Right, one that had a death wish. Fox made no effort to listen to what he said as she descended the mountain and took a place next to Peregrine, snapping and snarling at the "stranger's" face.
Perhaps she should have noticed sooner, but he did look a hell of a lot like Sebastian. In fact, he could have passed for him if Fox's nose were broken and the guy still had his whole tail. Unfortunately for him, Fox's nose was perfectly fine and his bobbed tail was a dead giveaway. Unlike Peregrine, she didn't put two and two together to make the parental connection. Fox did not intend to harm the guy, but she did want him to get lost and fast. Failure to do so would result in further action. Two against one wasn't particularly great odds for the guy, either.

He didn't let the male continue after the fourth word or so; he would not tolerate such blatant ignorance and disrespect. To make his message clearer, Peregrine lunged, aiming his teeth at the stranger's shoulder. Meanwhile, his ears thrust forward and his tail arched stiffly into the air. If the visitor didn't scram, he would not only be an idiot, he would be a dead idiot. This would be the Alpha male's final warning.
All the while, he knew nothing of Fox's approach behind him. Although he didn't have an ear to lend to this mouthy bastard—anything he said would go in one ear and out the other because, quite frankly, Peregrine didn't give a damn—all of his senses were otherwise focused on Sebastian's lookalike... except perhaps for the piece of his brain that thought of little Elwood Jr and how he wouldn't tolerate even the remotest threat to the caldera.

I didn't tag you because I wasn't sure Sebastian explicitly told Fox about his father! :3 Sorry!
Burke didn't even got a normal reply back, this pack was in no mood to be talking. Burke did want to just talk and not fight. This coward that called himself his son was hiding behind the borders and he disliked that. Burke would get his way. He always get his way. Maybe he would have to send some spies into their territory, or at least get some more info about these Caldera neighbors of his. Burke barely dodged the black male's attack. He did feel a light pull on his fur. It was probably because the red woman distracted him for a moment. Burke let out a snarl as he readied his body to dodge another attack. He wasn't going to fight back, it would be foolish. Two against one was never fun.
The grey tank squinted his pale eyes. "Calm down. I don't want to fight you," he spoke once more, calming himself too. Burke had no interest in creating a whole fight about some mindless wolf. He took a step back to show that he genuinely had no interest in a fight. Maybe if he did this a year ago he might have some spirit to fight but he had no feeling for it today. "I didn't cross your borders or made any attack towards you. Are you protecting this Sebastian? Why isn't he coming forward to meet me. I thought he wanted to face me so badly, well here I am. I want to know his problem with me and to stop bothering me."

Don't sweat it! FYI, Fox is attacking immediately after he says "calm down," so he probably wouldn't be able to get in the rest of what he's trying to say. ;)
"Calm down" were the last two words that should have spilled from his mouth. Fox intended to make it so. "Calm down" were words you used with children, not full-grown parents... alphas, no less, and Peregrine and herself had given him plenty of warning. Without hesitation, Fox lunged for his neck. She intended to kill him.
She didn't care what business he had here with any one of her members. He'd been asked (well, not nicely) to leave, and he had failed to take the very obvious hint. So Fox had done what she always did in these situations: she'd gotten physical. His life did not matter to her, to the pack, to her children. What mattered was that the wolves of Redhawk Caldera were safe.

He ignored Peregrine's (and Fox's—he dimly registered his mate's presence now) final warning, then patronized him to boot. The Alpha male did not find fault with the male's interest in his son. That was none of his business. But he had already warned Sebastian that he wanted none of this drama anywhere near the caldera. This wolf had even less business dragging it here. What gall he had, marching up to their land, demanding answers and an audience.
Empty words insisting the Alphas had no right to defend their borderlands went entirely unheard as first Fox, then Peregrine, launched themselves at him again. She went for his throat and the Alpha leaped to cut off his escape route. They wouldn't hesitate to tear him to pieces.

Well that didn't go as I expected it to go xD
Burke didn't even got time to curse because the red female instantly attacked. The large male wasn't the fastest and he was too busy forming his words when the female attacked. He let out a growl and tried to deflect the bite but then the male attacked too (which was expected, really). Burke pulled himself free, having an ugly cut from one of their teeth. He didn't care with one did the damage. The large male decided to get out of here. He would kill this Sebastian for luring him in like this. The male felt stupid now, it felt like he had fallen for his son's trick. Bastard. That was all this Sebastian was.
Burke rushed off away from the borders, not wanting to end this day of boredom by ending his life. It was far to precious for him to even tempt with it as he used to do before. He had Meldresi now, and he couldn't leave her. He didn't want to. They just got together after all. The tank realized that he had found a new drive to run faster than he did before. Remarkable what love could do.

Burke bit off a little more than he could chew, did he? ;)
Adrenaline still pulsed through Fox's veins as the Seb lookalike retreated. As long as he was running away, she was satisfied. Fox licked her teeth, cleaning off the blood and fur that clung to her ivory whites. She was still breathing heavily, nostrils flaring when he disappeared from her view. Only when he had vanished completely did she turn to Peregrine. What more could they do to make it clear that visitors weren't welcome? She swore the more they secured and protected their borders, the more idiots came around looking for trouble.
Despite—or perhaps because of—the commotion, Fox found her grey eyes settling easily on Peregrine's figure. He was a handsome devil, wasn't he? "You were a real badass, dear," she cooed, licking his ear. Not only was he a badass, but their children were mini badasses. There was just a whole lot of badassery going on in the Redleaf-DiSarinno lines that had firmly rooted themselves here.

The large male must have been fleeter on foot than Peregrine anticipated, for he entirely evaded the Alpha's blocking maneuver and fled away into the distance. He did not give chase, though he glared until the stranger's bobtail faded from view. Tail lashing, he turned to face Fox, a scowl marking his swarthy features despite her compliment.
"What the fuck's happening around here?" he spat. "What the hell is wrong with this place? Why are we treated like we're the retards for guarding our borders? Why is everyone so stupid? Fuck!" His voice raised as the brief rant just fell from his mouth. It was really getting to him how little respect the local wolves had for each other's domains. It was unnatural and infuriating.
Almost immediately, he softened. "Thanks, my dear. You were pretty hot shit yourself," Peregrine said, managing a small smile as he nudged her jaw. "Wanna finish my patrol with me?"

"How could I pass up such an offer?" she replied, smiling and briefly pushing the top of her head on his cheek. Fox allowed Peregrine to take the lead, letting her prince charming (lulz) take her wherever he wished. She did not know why wolves insisted on breaking what she thought was common sense. Perhaps it wasn't as common here. It seemed the Teekon Wilds caused a ton of wolves to lose their minds. Of course, Fox herself had gone on a bit of a trespassing spree back in the day, but she'd also never felt justified in her actions, and she was willing to submit if the warden who caught her bested her (or flee before they could do so).
"Maybe later I can take advantage of some of that pent up energy you have," Fox mused, raising her eyebrows at Peregrine. They'd been through such a dry spell after the kids... followed by Junior... and she was as thirsty as ever. But for now, Fox was content to patrol, keeping their home safe for themselves, their children, and the rest of their comrades.
