It was Charley's first journey outside of packlands since Vixen, and he was going alone. This time, however, was for a much more pure reason. He was out for wolves, to find someone to back him and Aspen up and get their pack subjects. He WOULD be a King, and she his Queen, and the only thing stopping them was having no followers.
Charley let out a howl when he was a good distance from Larksong, standing in a swath of trees. It called loners towards him, called anyone in search of a home. He didn't stop moving, though he did slow to a walk. He'd left at a gallop in early morning, and by midday was drawn to a walk where he now was.
He was breathless when his howl died, and he went on walking as he caught his breath. Would someone answer his calls, or would a pack wolf come to investigate first? Hopefully the first, for the sooner he found a group to lead the better.

gonna go ahead and reply to this :P
In one of the rare moments where she slept, Kinvara rested stretched beside a fallen tree. In the confines of sleep she didn’t recognize the message within the howl, only the noise itself which woke her from her rare peaceful slumber. However the red woman couldn't find it in herself to be angry, she was too curious about who was nearby and why they were howling.
He was male, nothing particular about him, though much larger than the slip of a wolf who more resembled a dingo than anything. Kinvara's steps were silent, her form rolling in a slinky way that shined with her usual way of skulking through the dark. It was obvious she was uncomfortable being out in the daylight, the red woman preferred the night and its cloak of darkness.
Stopping near him, she didn't sit. Kinvara only watched with red eyes, no definable expression on her face. Cocking a brow, she waited to see if the male would speak for Kinvara would not.

Regardless of anyone who was in this thread, the other, or none, the wolves are gathering at Redtail Rise. We hope to leave the night of June 22 :D You're free to say your character overheard Charley talking or word spread or something and just show up.
Only one appeared, but Charley spoke as though he had a crowd gathered around him and a crown on his head; albeit a bit quieter as to not spook this one. The Pryor held himself tall, ears and tail high but not stiff. His bold blue eyes were calm and friendly, if not excited.
"My name is Charley, and I am a King. My wife and I, my Queen Aspen, are looking for subjects. Should you join us, we promise you safety in numbers and a home, once we journey to find it. Working hard and proving your loyalty to those on the throne gets you into the inner circle, our family group."
Kinvara listened, ears perked curiously at his words. It was a brief introduction that this Charley gave her, sparing no time for informalities. Her muzzle wrinkled slightly in distate, a King? King of what, Queen of what? The second part of his words hit her and she had to hold in a laugh, they hadn't even found it yet and they called themselves royalty? Kin had seen it all now.
Shaking her head rather pointedly, Kinvara declined his offer. Turning to leave, the slight woman padded away softly back towards her tree to sleep.

Charley felt the sting of rejection in his chest, but instead of lashing out he let her go, sure that better things would come if he was patient. He padded further into the trees and howled again, calling out his message once more. He would likely continue this way, moving and calling every ten minutes or so for anyone in need of a home, of a leader. The brute prowled along the Emberwood as if he owned it, content to do so until stopped. If he didn't find anyone he would go back to Aspen, and reguarless this would not be his only trip in search of subjects for this journey.
Gonna keep this thread open for anyone who wants to join, but elsewise it'll be archived later on.
