Broken Boulder Sundagger

This is it.

Acheron whirled to face @Cassius with a boyish grin, beckoning him to look about the territory with a sweeping gesture. A flat expanse, but shaded by the nearby woods — and it harbored secrets beneath its surface. Cassius was given only a few seconds to survey the land before Acheron was leading him further, toward the heart of the territory where a giant boulder sat cleaved in two.

Don't worry, there's more to it, He muttered, ducking into the yawning chasm set between the two halves. Tunnels. Little caves. Perfect, right? Perfect, at least, in the eyes of a boy-soldier sent out on his own long before he was ready. Acheron only hoped that his father would approve.

What could he say about this place Acheron found? Enough like home to make the foreign familiar; enough like something new to shore up what he'd always found Sunfil lacking. But would his father agree? The strength of this land reflected on him as much as Acheron, and this weighed his opinions heavier than perhaps anything else.

And yet... how could he not drink of the ecstasy lighting up his best friend's eyes? Cassius reserved his judgments, scrutinizing every tree, every blade and leaf as the duo plunged into the heart of what might soon become their own. It was clear Acheron had already set his spirits on this place. Could he?

Hmm, he mused, tucking his golden head into the chasm after his friend, a hollow that stretched every onward. Now this is something, he turned bright eyes to the boulder's jagged roof, pale light from outside filtering in at a sharp angle and accentuating the stone tunneling down. How far do they go? Do you know? his teeth glinted through a boyish grin, or have you left that exploring up for the two of us?
