The silver Roman woke up with a start, sweat running down his muscular form. He was lying on the grass beside the Creek, hurriedly, Raz lapped up some of the freezing icy water. He had a nightmare, one that was pleasant and unpleasant at the sametime, for he was recalling the one time had had gave in to his urges to one of the pack healers. Afterwards, the healer who he did it with was filled with so much guilt as they vowed to never do something like that, she ran away in the middle of the night and was found in the morning, her guts spilled across stone, eaten by a bear. She knew little fighting skills, and none would have helped against a full grown bear.
This is what you do, his consciousness whispered to him whenever he felt the urges again and the images of the brutal death the healer recieved sprang into his mind. Raziel never gave in again, always forcing himself to move away even if the female pursuing him kept following him. It would do neither of them no good, he didn't even love her and it would be a one night stand, Raz preferred a long and sturdy mateship. He was most certainly not a womanizer, he would never be one.
There was no way he could sleep again, and anyways it was morning, he could see the sun rising by the horizon. After a quick meal, he set off towards the meadow he had met Scarlett sometime ago, wondering almost hopefully if she was there. Things were tight here in the Creek, and he needed to get away from everything. Scar was a good stress reliever, with her gentle, sweet and caring personality.
She remembered the last time he had a crush. The female had been heartbroken after the male found out through her brother. He had laughed in her face. Scarlett didn't really want to think about it anymore. In her craziness she did make her den a bit bigger so it could fit two wolves. She was smaller so that would make up for Raziel's bigger size if he happen to stay over. It would be a snug fit but Scarlett had nothing rather. She was currently curled up in her warm den. The emberwood is what she called home. A stream close by was making calming noises that echoed into her den. The first beams of light started to seep through her den wakening the pale wolf.
She stretched herself and started with her day. She had a rather big meal yesterday so she didn't feel like hunting. She did went to her small stream for drink when she decided that she should show her face to Maera at the glacier woods. She could take a quick cleaning swim on her way there. Her white coat was more brown that white. It was smudged with mud and dirt from her hunt yesterday. There was even some dried blood on her paws and around her muzzle her tongue couldn't reach. The dirty female got out of the woods onto the meadow in her dirty state. Maybe the stream that traveled through the meadow would be good to clean herself in. Scarlett trotted towards the deeper water. Her paws not even bothered by the chilly temperature. She was a northern wolf after all. When her nose caught a familiar scent her head snapped up. Immediately she felt embarrassed for looking so dirty. "Raziel!," she let out. She wanted to greet him in an excited matter but she held herself back. Oh why did she have to be this dirty when seeing the wolf she was starting to like...
"Raziel!," a voice called out, a familiar one. He smiled wryly, not facing her before wiping it off his face and turning towards her. A bright friendly gleam in his mysterious green eyes. He raised an eyebrow at her dirty features, a playful smirk creeping up his face. Well, well, well. Looks like the little white princess decided to take a mudbath, eh?
his tone was soft and gentle, merely teasing. The Roman trotted towards her, the stream water wetting his snowy paws as it washed against the shore. Speak of the devil, and I was just thinking about you. But, did ya miss me, little lady?
, the wolf sank down onto his haunches, his tail wrapping around his paws. She was beautiful, even with all that dirt on her.
It seems you need some washing to do,
he commented. Raz's mind wandered back to the dream he had and resisted the urge to back away from Scarlett and run, he wasn't going to do anything to her, they were just friends, absolutely nothing was going to happen. Are you sure you're going to be 'just friends'? His consciousness whispered in his mind. The Roman shook it away, he was just going to enjoy his time with the sweet red eyed lady. Raz smiled, a twinkle of mischief in his eyes as he rose onto his paws and moved swiftly into the water where he closed the distance between them.
As soon as his flank brushed against her fur, he leaned over and began grooming her, his rough tongue making gentle motions over her dirty fur, moving rhythmically. Normally Raziel didn't do this, groom someone else's fur, btu for some reason, something drove him to do it today. Venus, if you're messing up my mind...I swear... he growled mentally to the goddess of love.
She looked over her dirty fur that she could see. "I do need to do some washing," she replied and lowered herself in the cold water. It was rather refreshing, at least, the northern wolf thought so. A low hum came from her throat as she felt his tongue again. "You are too kind," she whispered and tipped her head to she the large male. She rolled through the water so the dirt was easier to get out of her fur. Scarlett rose again and shook herself out. The pale female then realized she covered Raziel with water. "Oh..!," she chuckled and stepped closer. Her pink tongue licked some droplets off his cheek. She then gave another lick over his nose. A soft sigh left her lips. Raziel was so unfairly handsome. Scarlett's red eyes looked up with a soft smile. "I just decided that you need a bath too," she then murmured with a hint of a grin. The tip of her tail let out a confident wag before she gave him a playful push with her paw.
The silver wolf laughed softly, confident as usual as Scarlett licked his chin in a submissive action, Raz's tail was naturally held high, taught by his father to always be the dominant one. However, he was not stupid, knowing to act submissive when his packmates talked to him, after all he was low into her pack hierarchy. It was not in the Angelus Mortis's blood to be a subordinate, but to be a leader, however unlike many of his other siblings, he was fine with acting as a low rank. It was a survival skill after all, a trained assassin needed to blend in. "I did. I happen to think about you too," his heart beat quickened immediately, a gentle smile gracing his features.
Kind.. Kind was not a word to describe the cold hearted, battle hardened silver Roman. He was a killer, a merciless one, he was not kind. I'm not someone you can describe as kind, little lady. I'm a warrior,
he smirked now. Thats a nicer word to describe my occupation, a word that describes me more would be a killer.
It was his life, there was nothing he could do to change that fact. Nothing at all. And Raziel was not stupid enough to meddle with his destiny, nor the three fates. Who knew what hell they would give him if he tried.
Raz watched, amusement evident in his green eyes as she rolled around in the water like a little pup, her gentle innocence was seemingly the thing that was drawing her towards him. What a pair they made, a dominant warrior, killer, Roman and a gentler, more submissive female. What would his father think? Both his biological dad and adoptive one would not approve if they got together, that wasn't going to happen anytime soon of course, but maybe over the course of time...
Water droplets splattered on his fur as she shook himself, Raz blinked as Scarlett stepped closer to him, her tongue slipping from her muzzle, licking the droplets off his cheek and his nose, sighing as she did so. "I just decided that you need a bath too," she spoke and attempted to push him. But Raziel wasn't that weak, in fact the last time they met, she only managed to push him down because he gave up his defenses. This time, he stood firm and flashed her a wink.
Scarlett's heart was beating faster than usual. Her red eyes loved to study and watch. It was what she was used to doing. Not many wolves conversed with her at her old pack. She was bound to study and observe wolf behavior rather than anticipating in social behavior. Scarlett could somehow tell that the male had quite the background. Especially since the last time they met Raziel had told her he never had cuddles before. Even though she had been lacking affection. Scarlett knew what cuddling was. It told her that she wasn't really eager to meet the pack Raziel came from. As it turned out her push didn't work at all. Raziel's body was almost like a rock the female was standing up against. Scarlett's two front paws hung over his back now. Her strength was nothing compared to his. A soft defeating puff came from her lips as the male winked at her. "Maybe you aren't as kind as I thought after all," she teased once more.
The albino got on all fours again and nudged the darker fur on his shoulder. Without words she carefully asked, with that nudge, what had happened. Once more she shook out her fur so her body heat would be trapped again. She felt a tad cold now the wind was picking up more. Soon she realized it was useless to shake herself dry since a light rain started to drizzle down on the two of them.
Manliness...
he laughed, throwing his head back. Its good to know I still intimidate people, that I haven't lost my touch yet. I don't even know why I was so kind to you, instead of outwardly attacking you immediately.
he smirked. Maybe its because you're one of the gentlest, soft hearted females I have ever met. The only female I have ever met thats like you.
Back at home, no, back in Rome, everyone in his pack cowered in his presence. The youthful son of the Praetor, already exceeding his father's expectations, finishing their deadly enemy in one swift movement and a fatal bite. Raziel had been taught to walk in a royal manner, the manner of a prince who had faced many battles. Not those kings who were fat and didn't know how to fight, but a strong warrior prince.
"Maybe you aren't as kind as I thought after all," Raziel grinned. I'm not kind,
he laughed. Jupiter....is this your approval, or your disapproval? he thought to himself as the wind whistled around them, light rain falling from the heavens. But they were friends, and their pack's weren't rivals as far as he knew. Surely it wasn't illegal to make friends with fellow wolves from other packs, like hell, the Creek was just a temporary resting place and after he was sure Shadow's pups were safe, he was getting the hell outta there. So much more to see in this massive world.
Scarlett moved her nose through his fur again and licked over the scar on his shoulder. She flattened the darker fur over it with her tongue. "What happened here?," she asked curiously since he didn't got her nudge from before. As much as Scarlett didn't want to move away from the male but she had no feeling in her paws anymore from the cold water. She moved to the bank and shook herself out one last time. The meadow looked so lonely without the flowers that housed here during spring. The female yawned lazily and then stretched herself out. She sunk through her front legs, her tail moving up as she stretched herself. Once she was on all fours again she stretched her hind legs. "Next time we should meet at the foot of the Glacier just outside the border. I know something fun to do.," she spoke mysteriously.
Even if I wanted to soften up, which I don't.
he pointed out. I can't, the ways of a leader, assassin, warrior have been driven and hammered so deep into my soul I doubt I would be able to soften up.
Unless he wanted to, he'd been known to be kinder, softer, gentler to those he cared about. Did he care about Scarlett, even after meeting her only once? Perhaps he had a kind of protectiveness for her, she seemed so delicate and fragile, innocent and untainted by the bloodshed his home saw. Maybe that was what drove him towards her.
Scarlett licked the deep scar on his shoulder, his fur parted around it, the wound bright and visible despite it being there for a long time already. My biological father happened. I was less than a year old and my mother brought me to meet him, away from my other dad's home. He trained with me, deemed me weak and punished me. Sank his fangs into my shoulder, pinned me onto the ground. Mom told my other dad it was a cougar attack when we got back,
he shrugged. Aku was brutal and cruel, but his ways of teaching stuck, many of his battle skills came from him instead of Constantine.
Raziel moved to the bank, shaking his fur out. "Next time we should meet at the foot of the Glacier just outside the border. I know something fun to do.," Oh?
Raz raised an eyebrow, a smirk touching his lips. Well, I'll be here if you need me. So if you want to go to the Glacier with me, meet me here and we'll go together. Its not like my pack misses me anyways.
he said carelessly.
The female let out a soft whine at hearing the story. It also provided some new information. Raziel grew up under the command of another male, not his own biological father? She was curious about more of the story but she didn't ask. It sounded too personal. "Well I think you aren't weak at all," she tried but her words had less power. She wasn't as strong as Raziel, she couldn't even imagine what his biological father looked like in strength. "I dislike cougars. They are really- No I don't like them," she spoke, remembering the events with Kove. A shiver when through her. The red eyes of the cougar did made the cat look like a monster. No wonder others thought that Scarlett was one. She grew really sad at that thought which didn't happen often.
She blinked up from her thoughts. "Excellent. It will be very fun. At least I think so," she spoke to the male. "We have to go to the other glacier outside the pack border though. I don't want any trouble with my pack. I don't think, even though I've got upgraded in rank, I am allowed to bring strangers on our lands."
<style type="text/css">q {font-family: 'PraetoriumBB'; font-style: strong; font-size: 13px; color: #367588; text-shadow: 0px 0px 5px;} p {margin: 40px 150px 0px 150px; font-family: 'PraetoriumBB', serif; color:#000000; text-align:justify; text-indent:0px; font-size: 13px;} </style>
I was trained to lead my other dad's pack, not my biological one, but I decided not to and left. I don't think I would be able to commit myself to lead my own pack, I prefer traveling around until I have something to stay for.
he shrugged. I can lead well, I just don't want to lead, fighting is much easier.
Fighting was indeed much easier than leading, leading involved patience and that was one thing Raziel did not have. He didn't have patience, it had always been the wolf's fatal flaw.
I was weak when I was not a year old, and besides in the eyes of my biological father, I'll always be weak.
he grinned, it didn't bother him that Aku thought he was weak. Hell, Aku thought everyone except for himself was weak, the strong survive, the weak die, Raziel. I'm training you to be strong so you can survive, but you're still weak and pathetic. Can't see what Constantine sees in you, boy, the words of his father echoed in his head. Raz shrugged them away, he was long gone from Rome.
Alright, I'll be here if you need me.
he spoke, moved towards her and kissed her goodbye before turning and leaving, not looking back for he knew it would just tell him to go back to her. But Raziel had duties, and duties came first.
The young female was interested in the training Raziel had when he had been younger. It sounded like the same one her brother Brandon had. She wasn't privileged enough to get that training. They probably assumed her dead after she left. She shook it off and paid attention to the male. "Well maybe you will lead your own family one day," she spoke softly, with the hope that it would be her. Scarlett was really starting to crush more on the grey silver wolf. Was that wrong? She would have to stop it because she was heartbroken. She wasn't mate material, as her old family said.
Scarlett's ears fell back since she wanted to part with the male just yet. She was almost tempted to howl now. But she didn't dare to take him away from his duties. "Alright. I will howl for you," she agreed. "Stay safe," she whispered after he left. The female went the other way, to Duskfire. She probably had some duties to do too.
