Thuringwethil’s time spent training had reduced drastically since she’d left the remains of Seageda. The lone male wolf had gotten a better grip on her than she had been able to get on him and she’d rather blame the time she’d spent traveling, running on little food, and her last training session weeks behind her. It wouldn’t happen again, forcing herself to get into a better regime and keep up her skills and strength now that she’d been filling back out with steady meals.

She’d been busy dealing with the claim that she’d not spent a lot of time with @Snacha. She’s often never far and a simple call would bring her forth, but they hadn’t trained together since they’d arrived. Whatever training Snacha might have had before might be rusty, given that she is younger. There is still plenty to learn but she hopes the basics have remained.

“Snacha,” she calls once she spots the masked girl up ahead, easing to a stop with her tail swept across her back and ears cupped forward. “We are going to train.”

Life with the Dragon Clan upon the sleeping dragon's slopes was not easy, but Snacha didn't think it ever would be. So far they'd claimed their land, hunted an elk, and feasted upon its meat. Then, with its leftovers, they'd filled their first caches. Snacha was never far from Thuringwethil's side, though sometimes she did wander far enough to give the heda a sense of herself. The girl wasn't one to think of her own-self, but of the commander's self. It was during such a moment of distance that Thuringwethil sought her out to train.

Snacha turned and swept into a nod of deference, ears splayed back and head level with her shoulders. She was second in name only, not in the eyes of the others, and she would have to prove her worth here. "Aye, heda. What shall we train in today?" Snacha shifted her body to be in a more neutral stance, which allowed her body more fluid movement if the commander sprang at her instead of giving her time to prepare. Her mother taught her to always be prepared.

Thuringwethil did not get much time with the wolves she selected from Trigeda, but the trust she had in their word had been enough. What she knows of Snacha is limited, but she'd been promised the prospect to bloom. Unfortunately, the young woman didn't have anyone to return to should the masked girl not work out.

Heda wouldn't give her the chance.

Her shoulders relax and she eases back as if her rear legs have springs, watching the way the other moves in preparation. She slowly blinks, opening her gaze to the right of her vision.

"Pin me."

Only a glance is given back when she leaps away, spinning off the side. She's propelled back several steps without giving Snacha a fair chance of a charge. Her jaws hang slack, feet dainty on the ground to flee from the attack.

Snacha did not hesitate when she saw the chaos of Seageda; she left her fellows there and traveled onward, finding Thuringwethil's scent and following it all the way here. It had taken many weeks, but in the end she hoped it would pay off. So when the heda thought that Snacha had nothing to return to, she was right; Snacha had devoted her life to the heda and her new life here, whether it prospered or no.

"Pin me."

The command came, quickly followed by a flurry of movement. Snacha's quick gaze followed Thuringwethil as she steps to the side and propels herself backward several feet, likely to get out of Snacha's reach. But the girl mirrored the heda's movements almost immediately, side-stepping and even propelling herself forward when the heda went back. A play growl split the air as Snacha bowed forward, coiling legs beneath her to spring up and forward, hoping to surprise heda enough to unbalance her.

There isn’t much time between when she stops and waits for Snacha, the girl propelling forward. She delays her movement until the raccoon-faced wolf is close enough that she can rush back without colliding. She barrels back on graceful paws despite her size. The growl between the two causes a grin to form on her lips, hidden as she turns her head and rushes several steps back to increase the distance Snacha had eaten up in her move.

Her own growl returns and she snaps her teeth a few times, clicking invitingly as she pushes herself down into a bow.

Though Snacha's feet were quick, Thuringwethil seemed to dance out of her reach and swept into a bow, grinning. Snacha wondered at her aim behind all this dancing away, as it was not the fighting style she had learned from her earliest training sessions, but she lunged toward Thuringwethil again, front paws reaching toward her, hoping to contact her shoulders and barrel her over.

Snacha moves and Thuringwethil’s grin fades, focusing on the lunge so she can better brace herself. She considers dancing out of the way once more, giving the woman something to work for—she couldn’t be pinned if the raccoon’d face girl couldn’t catch her. She doesn’t send herself flying back when the opportunity presents itself and so both feet of the younger woman hits her shoulder. Her legs lock to hold her in place but the weight of the other sends her stumbling back a few uneasy steps before she’s able to barrel back into her second.

She vocalizes a low growl—half play, half warning—and pushes back, using her right front leg to send her forward. The weakened state it had been in the last few weeks doesn’t hold up and gives out beneath her projection. She tries to mask it in the half of a second she has, dipping her shoulder to catch herself but one strong push might be enough of an advantage.

Snacha half expected Thuringwethil to saunter back again, so when she didn't (and instead stumbled forward), her paws made contact with the alpha's shoulder. The raccoon-girl released a pent-up growl in return, and used her measly weight to shove against the already unsteady Thuringwethil further to the ground. If she succeeded, then she would attempt to pin her. If the shove failed, Snacha would use the move to roll them both a few times, and use the injury to her advantage.

Either way, Snacha was surprised to find how winded she was now, after such a short spar. She tried to hide her heaving sides, but it was hard to do so and concentrate on taking Thuringwethil down. The journey from Trigeda to Drageda had been harder on her body than she'd thought, and she'd have to work to rectify that immediately following this spar, whatever the outcome.

The push forces her back and with her leg weakened beneath her weight, she hits the ground harder than she expects. Air is forced from her lungs and she wheezes, and while she attempts to keep still to find her breath again, Snacha’s weight on her prevents much success.  Thuringwethil finds herself unable to go anywhere despite the squirming attempts but she’s faced with too much restriction. She tries to growl but nothing escapes and so she turns, working breathlessly to put her mouth on something to free herself.

They go back and forth a little while longer, attempting again and again with some success, with some failure, but either way she's confident the girl has promise.
