Being very vague, but I want to throw up a couple of read-only threads and then send Elwood home! This is backdated a couple of days. :)
It had been too many days since he'd had a solid meal, and while Elwood refused to believe it was affecting him, he couldn't deny the weakness in his limbs. To a familiar wolf, he would be nearly unrecognizable -- hours on the move without much food had made him lean, and his coat was dull and scruffy. His eyes, on the other hand, were bright with wild hope.
But that brightness slowly started to dim. Eventually, with hunger clawing at his belly, he was forced to face the facts. He was alone in the wilds with no leads and he had been pushing his physical and mental boundaries for days. The last thing he wanted to do was return home empty handed, without Lucy, but the logician within him fought to be heard. He didn't have much choice.
He closed his eyes and sighed, then turned and began to shuffle back towards the caldera. Already, dread filled his empty stomach as he prepared himself to face Finley, Lagan, Liffey, and Eljay.
