Pack Activity
Inner Court meeting!!!! Just thought we could have a meeting IC so everyone is up to date on the goings on of the pack. This is an Inner Court meeting, but really its just a pack meeting, considering we have no gentry at the moment, although please advise pups are NOT to attend this meeting. There is no posting order or limit, I will start the round off today January 2, 2017 and the next round will start on Thursday January 5, 2017 so everyone should have hopefully joined in before then.

@Sylvas Streiter @Eden @Emory @Heartha @Freya

The sun was setting when Shalon decided it was time to inform the pack of what had happened. She had spoken to Aspen briefly about speaking with the Inner Court on what happened to Alder, but she had never called the pack. Shalon feared that she might not recover from the death of her son, Rowan and so for the time being had taken up the mantel of leader within the court. Lifting her muzzel to the Sky she let her call echo over the surfaces of the rock. Calling for the pack to come together in this troubling time. Her song was one of sadness and grief. It seemed that was the only song she still knew how to sing.

Her song originated from the heart of the tunnel systems, deep within the cave system they all called home. She stood a top a boulder near the small underground lake that was in the center of the main cavern. She waited patiently for her pack to arrive, Shalon wasn't sure if Aspen would come or not, she hadn't seen the woman since they found the body of the Prince.

Eden heard the sorrowful call, loud and clear, and stood from where she lay with the two pups at her side. She trotted to where Shalon stood, slightly confused as to why the pack had been called together as they had. Shalon, she greeted, what's wrong? Eden sat back on her haunches and cocked her head curiously, hoping that whatever had happened wasn't as bad as she thought.

She hadn't seen the King in days, nor had she seen his first heir, and though something told her that was it, she tried not to ponder the subject for long.

Heartha heard Shalon, and moved to where the wolf was. She was surprised Aspen did not call, and wondered why. Had something happened to Aspen? When she appeared, she was about to ask the same that Eden asked. So she said nothing, and sat in waiting for the reply. And where was their Queen? She began to worry.

Emory heard the sorrowful call, still unaware of the leave of her brother, and followed with a hesitant gait. She entered the cave and soon enough gathered with the small group within. She wondered why they lacked both Alder and Aspen, and for a moment she began to think they were planning a revolt of some kind, something she would never agree too, and a unreasonable anger rose inside her, before realizing she held no reason to by cross when they hadn't even spoken yet.

The mercenary had only just entered the tunnels when he caught the sorrowful song of Shalon's call ring through the tunnels. A puzzled expression took over the brute's face as he continued his way onward, quickly weaving and winding his way through the system of tunnels, hastily making his way to the heart of the Inner Circle.

As Sylvas arrived, his golden gazed looked to the few gathered, eventually peering up to Shalon stood high upon a boulder. 'What was going on?' He pondered, amber eyes glancing around at the room waiting for Alder or either Aspen to make an appearance. 'Where were they?' Giving an anxious sway of his tail, Sylvas joined the others that gathered around Shalon.

MANDATORY THREAD, for Inner Circle Members.

Round #2 has started. Round #3 will start Monday January 9th, 2017.

MANDATORY THREAD, for Inner Circle Members.

Shalon looked down at the four wolves before her. She had a sadness in her silver gaze, but their was a furious fire in gaze, where was @Freya. She growled to herself, surely the one with the desire to become a chronicler would respond to an urgent pack meeting. There would be consequences for her tardiness, she was in no mood to deal with an absence. Lifting her muzzel once more she called for the girl, the anger evident in her tone. They could not wait on her, she would start the meeting without her. Although her vacancy had only caused a further deteriation in her mood. Her fuse running shorter and shorter.

"I have called you here to notify you of a grave crime that has been committed. A crime that has caused us to lose our illustrious leaders." Taking a deep breath, she jumped below to stand along side her packmates. Ignoring Eden's question slightly, she continued.

"Prince Rowan has been murdered."

She let it sink in, watching each of them with a sharp gaze. Her voice cool and collected, could freeze the very air that gave them breath. It took her a moment before she could explain what had happened, as tears began to form in her eye.

"The King..."

She choked on her own voice, trying to push down her emotions she took a very shaky breath.

"Alder... Alder has killed his own son."

Shalon stoof utterly still, sure that should she move the world would crash around her.

"He has since fleed, leaving Queen Aspen and Princess Rose to find the body." They deserved to know what had happened, and the chaos that had become their pack. She hoped this was enough for them to understand the void of the Queen. And why Shalon stood here alone to tell them the news.

Sorry everyone, I forgot to subscribe

She had been in her own little world away from the tunnels when Shalon first called for the meeting. Almost at the very edge of the territory Freya heard the call but the tone and message was somewhat distorted. Along with the fact that it didn't sound like either the king or queen of the court. She made her way over to the tunnels but in no big sence of urgency.

Something felt off about the pack. She was the choniclor and even she didn't know what was happening within the borders. She returned from Shalon and her scouting mission and learned that one of the new members had died, and she hadn't seen the king or the queen very much since she returned. She was at the entrance of the tunnels when she heard Shalon's second howl, specifically for her addressing her lack of appearance.

Freya ears purked as the sound seemed to shout in her face as it flew out of the tunnel entrance. She then galloped in to see everyone in a curious, but also sad mood. Shalon must have been a bit angry and Freya assumed Shalom would talked to her later but she had something to tell everyone. Neither the king or queen was at the meeting which rose Freya's suspisions even more. Shalon was a high ranking member of the pack and Freya had respect for her, but why had she called the meeting and not the king or queen.

She alerted everyone of a crime that had been commited within the court and Freya was vurious but also mad about it. Before knowing what the crime was she felt as though a crime against the pack was a crime against her aswell. But when she herd what the crime was and who had done it she broke. Flashbacks and memories of the same thing happening to her two children overwhelmed her and caused her to go into a paniced shock state. She lay down with her paws on her head as her entire body shook.

She had fleed her original pack to get away from this feeling but it seemed it would never go away.

She could easily tell something was bothering the Duchess, though no sesne of fear had washed over her yet, no idea that her brother was gone. It wasn't until the announcment of Rowan's death did her eyes widened, her blood when cold, her ears lowered, her tail hung on her body like it was heavy weight. She couldn't believe it, she finally got a family, and one was taken away already. Though her sadness was flooded by anger as Shalon continued on. NO. She could not stand by as they acused her brother to have killed him, Charley would never do that. Charley had one of the biggest hearts if anyone. "Never!" The woman shouted, wrath had become her body she would never believe such an awful idea. "Charley would never do that." She growled. Yes, Charley Pyror, her twin would never commit such a crime agaisnt his own blood, but Alder was a new wolf, new man, she really had no idea if he did it or not, but right now she couldn't stand the idea of her nephew dead, and her brother gone. Her eyes burned, her throat closed, for a moment she might've cried, but she wouldn't allow herself to be such an embarressment.

"If he was your King, and you truly knew him as family you would never accused my brother of-" goddamnit she was about to cry "-murdering his own son."

Heartha awaited Shalon's words. There was a sadness in her eyes, one that worried her more. Shalon sent up another howl for someone who was missing, but Heartha doubted that was the reason for Shalon's feelings.

Heartha gulped when Shalon began speaking. Crime. What happened? She didn't want to think about it, but as it turned out she didn't have to. Because Shalon continued. She gasped at the next words. "Rowan..." she whispered, her eyes wide in disbelief. This was a bad dream. But she wasn't finished. Heartha could feel tears forming from her eyes. Alder had...no, she couldn't believe it. She wouldn't believe it!

And neither did another wolf, apparently Alder's brother. Heartha wanted to agree, yet said nothing. For she couldn't. She was choking on any words that tried to form.

Eden listened to Shalon's words and tried her hardest to put any bias beside her, for one never knew what others were capable of. Even though she felt that Alder would never do such a thing, she knew that the pack's situation was becoming more streneous, with three litters and only four wolves able to supply the caches. She listened to Emory's protest and Heartha's heartbroken croak, but she thought for a long moment before making her response. I know that it may be hard to hear, she began, her main focus on Emory, but maybe he's changed since you were last together. Life can do that to someone. Eden tried her best to keep her tone level, but it shook just slightly as she thought of the pain Aspen must've been going through. They had quickly become close since she'd joined the Court, and she couldn't imagine having the same done to her.

Sylvas' ears twitched as Shalon finally began to address the small gathered group, the mercenary's golden eyes watching the Duchess as her voice seemed to tremble as she spoke, her words struggling to escape her lips as she explained the dire situation further. The male had to admit, he couldn't believe what he was hearing as amber eyes peered around the group, quietly noticing as few began to speak up against the notion. The Knight remained sat, silently listening as he watched an unknown female (to him) speak out against Shalon's shocking news. The mercenary could feel his muscles tensing beneath his pelt as he pawed at the ground, his pink tongue escaping his mouth as he licked at his dry lips, though Eden's voice sounded before his own and with reasoning.

Gradually, Sylvas rose from being seated, his golden gaze remaining upon his mate as she attempted to reason with the distressed female. Giving his bushy tail a thrash behind him, Sylvas looked toward the ground as his mind tried to make sense of all of this. Alder, the King had killed his own son and then abandoned the Court. And Aspen, the Queen had also disappeared along with one of her pups, Rose, to find the body of her murdered son. This was a lot to take in, for all of them.

Brown ears slowly laid against his skull as he let a sigh pass his leathery lips, the mercenary taking a moment to allow this tragic information to sink in. Lifting his gaze to peer around the group of wolves once more, black lips parted and Sylvas' voice sounded over the conflict of words, ”Shalon.. If this is truly the case...” He paused, almost wanting to bite his tongue due to this sensitive time, but still he continued, ”What does that mean for the pack now?” The time may not have been right, but with such news and lack of leadership, something needed to be done to save those who were left standing as the packs last pillars.

Sorry for the slightly late reply!

Round #3 is starting, Round #4 will start Saturday, January 14, 2017.

MANDATORY THREAD, for Inner Circle Members.

Whipping around to meet Emory head on, "You think I want to be the one telling you such things!" Shalon snarled, the build up of anger and anguish couldn't be contained any longer, which was evident as water fell drip by drip from her silver orbs. "You don't know him." Shalon pleaded with the femme, she didn't mind the girl, but Shalon knew one thing for certain, "He is no longer your brother, Charley." The very name filled her mouth with ash, the taste vile in and of itself. She turned to Heartha slightly, checking that the woman was ok as well as Freya. Shalon didn't want anyone to suffer, however she was at a sever disadvantage with her own emotions in such a fluctuent state. She appreciated Sylvas's input, glad for the support at such a difficult time. "I know it is hard to believe," she continued letting Eden's question hover in the background for a moment.

Returning to stand infront of them, although still at their level. "I wish that..." She looked at each of them, lost for words. "I wish I had more to say. I don't know why the King did what he did. Things had been difficult with so many pups and such a cold winter. However such a drastic action will never be truly understood unless the King were to one day return." With a small sigh she looked away from them, taking a deep breath. "I hereby proclaim that the King is as good as dead." Shalon had a fire in her eyes as she made her edict. "I also wish to inform you that I believe the Queen is not well enough to continue her duties." Shalon knew this was a stretch, and expected to hear the protest.

Shalon turned to Eden at this moment, looking her in the eye. "We survive." What else could she say, they give up? No, absolutly not. The Court would survive, at least she hoped.

Shalon's cold words sent the room into silence, at least from where Eden sat. There was a moment where she admired the woman as more than a brave figure, but a leader to them all. She listened with an intense focus and considered the words carefully before replying in agreeance, An emotional toll can leave someone incapable of their duties. She thought back to the catatonic state she herself had slipped into in the days leading up to and after giving birth. Some things were more difficult than others, though, and she knew that losing a live, breathing child was going to be one of those experiences.

I assume you will lead now? As our...Queen? It was posed as a question rather than a statement, for Eden had never seen Shalon in the same light as she hd Aspen. In the same thought, she didn't know her that well, either. I am confident that if we work as one, we will survive indeed. She nosed her mate gently, as if to let him know that she wasn't giving up and that he'd better not be either. They had a long way to go, and none of them could do it alone.

The male's ears remained pinned the his skull as he watched Shalon sharply turn to look Emory head on, his golden eyes watched as the Duchess snarled her words to the woman. Slowly, the brown and silver male lowered his head, eyes remaining on Shalon as she continued to express angrily how she felt about being the one to explain the situation to everyone else. And silently the male agreed, for he himself wouldn't want to tell his pack such shocking news. Who would?

Sylvas let out a sigh, ears still listening to the echo of voices as they sounded in the air. Confusion circled the room as well as anger and sorrow, but this wasn't a time for wolves to start losing their heads. A structure still had to be maintained by those who were still left and Sylvas looked to the Duchess as she explained that Aspen was no longer well enough to tend to her duties and this was understandable to all present. The Queen having had to go through such a thing and in a short amount of time.

Silently straightening himself, Sylvas peered from Shalon to Eden as they spoke about the future and survival of the pack, the male's golden eyes peering around the room silently as he waited for anyone else to speak up. Without a doubt, Sylvas knew that he was willing to do his part to ensure they made it through the growing winter.

Heartha just listened, her head hanging low to the ground as a low whimper left her. She had never seen him as a killer. And yet, she had no reason to not believe Shalon. And even Eden and Sylvas were in agreeance to her. Her ears pinned back, her tail hugging her rear leg when Shalon snarled. She averted her eyes when she saw Shalon move her gaze onto her, not seeing the other females face.

Heartha had beared his children. And at hearing this, she feared what would have happened if that had happened to one of her own. A whine escaped her closed maw. She felt betrayed. And somewhat disgusted with herself, having let him give her children, after learning this. For a brief moment, she wondered if Emory knew of what had happened. heartha glanced over with an apologetic look.

Freya remained tucked away as the others spoke. At the time she simply didn't care what was going on around her. Though she heard what the others spoke about.

Sorry to make it short, not really sure what to say...

Emory felt betrayed, by who she didn't know. The pack for accusing Charley? Or maybe Charley himself. Everything felt as though it was collasping around her, her heart beat so quickly all she could hear was the blood pumping through her ears. Her eyes were wide and moving about every face, her body grew overheated, her breathing was speedy. Her brother was everything to her, she backed away slightly from the group, unable to take the overbearing news. Her eyes stung, the back of her throat throbbed, her body needed her to cry but she wouldn't allow it. Not now, not ever.

She felt defeated, like the universe had won agaisnt her in a battle she knew nothing about, one she didn't even know she ahd to fight for. Her legs felt weak, after everything she did and he just... left? Maybe he wasn't who she knew, but right now she couldn't even think of the possibility, it was too overpowering for the girl to handle. The entirety of what she was going through was shock, shock built up by anxiety that it flatlined into complete and utter shock.

Last Round?

Shalon looked at each of them slowly, trying to catch each of their eyes. Some averted, others still stood in dis-believe. She wasn't sure what might be found within her own silver orbs? She wasn't particularily scared, more sad. A sadness that had been looming over her and the whole pack it seemed since Alder's first betrayal to Aspen and his disapperance. Shalon would do what she could to follow in her beloved sister's paw prints.

The now self-proclaimed ruler looked at Eden, "Yes Eden." She said softly, turning her back on the wolves of the Glade. Taking her previous position atop the boulder, she stood before them turning with the confidence she hoped was that of a leader. "I am the Queen." Shalon hoped this would give some comfort, but knew that others were struggling still. Emory and Heartha to say the least.

Then I bow to you. Eden looked at Shalon — Queen Shalon, and gave an encouraging smile. Without thinking, she bowed down to her new matriarch and remained locked in said position for at least a moment's wait. I trust that you will lead us well.

short post

Sylvas merely remained silent as he stood watching the gathered wolves, allowing the delicate news to sink in for others present, though his chocolate-brown ears soon arched forward as he listened to Shalon and Eden's conversation. An understanding matter that had to be dealt with and Sylvas' gave an approving nod of his head to the pair as amber eyes shimmered in the dense light as he glanced around at the others, the brute gradually giving a bow to their new declared leader, Shalon.
