Open to anyone! Especially if you want to meet Tryphon and join SCC when it revives!

Tryphon had never witnessed thunder before, not that he could remember. So when the sky opened up and began spitting bolts of pure energy, he was unnerved. And while he did not understand that electricity always chose the path of least resistance (thus being very conductive through water), he had a sense of dread take hold of him. So he ran. He ran from the maplewood and headed south again, not willing to take his chances further north where the biting cold must have been at its worst. He thought that maybe it was the sun trying to banish the clouds — finding a way through the dark of them to try and melt the ice and bring on Spring. It was foolish. He was not knowledgeable of such things as the weather despite having watched the stars and the sky for many days.

He did not stop running until another forest rose to greet him, and he was hidden by the boughs of the more familiar trees. Once under the cover of the grove, Tryphon sagged and was left panting against a copse of pines. Each breath hurt. His lungs were stinging and he could taste a copper flavor in the back of his throat from the fear-tinged bolt he'd made across the taiga. But gradually his heaving breaths calmed and he could take notice of where he'd ended up — and upon realizing he knew the scent of this place, the taste of it, the look, his heart felt as if it seized with sorrow.

Jade Fern Grove. And it was empty.
