Mother had told her not to go, to just stay home and grow old and grey there. The world was far too dangerous for a delicate flower like her. Her hearing was bad, she wasn't strong, she could barely do anything right... Somewhere along the line, she started to doubt that judgement. Sure, the world was big and scary for her, but it was still something she'd like to see, feel and hear... So, it was time to leave. She didn't tell them, of course not, and left the hill as quiet as the world was to her. She entered the Teekon not much later where she set her sight upon a mountain. She had never seen one before, let alone had stood on one, and she smiled sweetly.

The journey was short but hard - tumbling rocks could not be heard well and voices of others maybe calling out to her were as silent as the stars. The ridge she came upon was uneven and hard to walk on, but it was different. Beautifully so, just like the delicate flower herself. She reached a point to where she could see a vale and she silently dreamed of exploring there, head on one paw and form comfortably on the floor.

Somehow the boy had found a way onto the peaks of the ridge that overlooked the Vale — unscathed, even. He was quite proud of himself. It hadn't looked like a difficult feat at first but he had struggled, though now that he was up here, Redshank would most definitely say otherwise if anyone asked. But even with his confident nature and large paws, the boy was unused to the treacherous mountain paths and his less than stellar stamina made the trip slightly longer than intended.

The stars glistened overhead as the boy picked his way along the rugged mountain top, glancing every now and again at the vale spread below him. A foreign scent, however, caught his attention and his casual lope quickened, eyes narrowing in suspicion. He saw the stranger resting up ahead, a slender little thing that he almost mistook for a coyote. Redshank's hackles bristled and he let out a shout to get its attention as he strode towards it. "Hey, y'real close to our territory, y'know!"

It was so big and beautiful - so far and yet close enough to feel. Living there would be a blessing, wouldn't it be? All that space to you and your comrades, safe between the towering mountains, protected from rain by ridges and caves and trees. A pack would've settled there, she knew; it was too perfect to pass up. Her eyelids began to become heavy and she blinked them slowly, nearly slumbering when a faint call reached her. It was so faint and jumbled and far that she couldn't make out what it was saying. Determining where it had come from was even a hard task, but she found the boy - somehow in a hurry or something. Was it her? Was he concerned she might fall?

Hm? She questioned, raising her head and tipping it to a side with big doe-eyes. She hadn't understood, so much was clear, but what was he trying to tell her? Perhaps if she could see his lips - mouth it with him - she could understand.
