A day ago, her surroundings were powdered in a light dusting of white. Todays light drizzle washed the snow away, and made for one dreary setting. The green-eyed clover sat outside and huffed, bored—her siblings dozed off for a nice little nap, but for once Clover didn't feel like harassing them to wake up. Instead, the young Blackthorn girl began to move away from the rendezvous and head as casually as she possibly could toward the borders. Normally she wasn't permitted near them, but maybe, just maybe, if she kept her cool, no one would question her... so long as her mom and dad did not spot her, first.

BABY SIB!!
It was possibly the dreariest day in history, but there was at least one wolf who was loving it. The rain over He snow had caused some areas of the ground to grow icy, and that meant slippery. Lagan had found a particularly slippery patch in the more plains like land of Redhawk Caldera, and was sliding back and forth over it. It was super fun, and he was really enjoying himself, even though the real world was grayscale, Lagan’s world was still Kodachrome.
At some point he turned his head and stopped laughing, just in time to see a small gray figure walking towards the border not too far off. He knew the pups were getting more and more restless, but they still weren’t allowed to stray too far. When Lagan was a little pup and he had strayed to the border, he’d been attacked by a monster. He wouldn’t let that happen to any of his babies, no way. He sped towards the pup and realized he was dealing with Clover, the girl with the eyes like his except darker.
Hey Clover! Where’re you going. You’re not allowed by the border ya know.He said as he slowed down to a trot, moving towards her calmly. He didn’t want to be a buzzkill, but the pup’s safety came before their fun. Wow, Lagan really was maturing.

She was going to make it today. Her tail waved as she began to prance, the elation she felt pouring into her movements—but then Clover heard her brothers voice. Lagan. Her head whipped in his direction as he reminded her of something she knew, and her ears pricked upward.
Clover trotted around him, trying to hold her head a bit taller.
Whaaaaaaat?she asked, as though what she had heard was absolutely unbelievable.
But I'm big today! Mom and dad said when I am a big, I can, and today, I am!!!!She was no bigger than yesterday, but she meant her totally mature mindset.
Clover trotted around him, trying to hold her head a bit taller.
See?The fact that she was the runt of the litter did the lionhearted Clover no favors. The Blackthorn cub was smaller than most her age, albeit perfectly healthy.

Lagan shook his head as Clover made her case, and lifted a paw. He put it atop her head, then pulled it back to his body, to show her height compared to him.
Old Lagan probably would’ve given in eventually, but this older more mature Lagan knew that a part of parenting was keeping your kids safe, no matter how much they begged to “have fun”. That also meant he would have to teach her another way to have fun. Good thing he had one just around the corner.
Um but, no. You aren’t big today. Sorry bud.He said with a small amused smile. She started trotting circles around him acting bigger, and Lagan giggled a little. He put out his paw again, this time to put it in front of her and stop her. He bent down to her height,
Hey! Hey look. Clover. Nooooooooooo. He replied, stretching out the no for emphasis.

Yeah no you can’t go to the border. BUT! I can show you something really cool. It’s even cooler than the border, like the coolest thing you will EVER do, in your entire life.He said, hyping it up in hopes that she’d forget about the border.
