All Welcome
a little away from the borders

the circle.
garait was all by healed by now; he oft strayed far from the forest wherein they had made their home. for now, the gaul added silently to himself. neither he nor venextos wished to stay for long in one area — good hunting was only found when comforts were abandoned. and yet here he stood, gazing dumbly at the rear of proud stone teeth. "canthu," the great wolf muttered, setting off toward the place at a lope.
he soon came to the scent of wolves, thick-splashed and concentrated — garait's demeanour changed; he kept back from the borders a lengthy amount, bristling with head down and seafoam eyes burning, but held inexorably by what he could see of the sacred circle.

She had torn herself away from her herbs and set herself doing something useful, however arduous and dull. Mechanically did she scent mark and pace, until something of interest had the mute pause in her patrol, gaze catching on the dark stranger. Even from here she could see the way he bristled, seemed intent on their borders. A little lurch of her heart propelled her forward, and she kept pace with the brute, gaze darting to him now and again as she slipped along the borders, unsettled.

garait had scarcely crept near again when movement caught his seafoam eyes — he held quite still as a feminely-shaped creature began a leery patrol of her borders, stepping in time with him. presently, the gaul realized what a foolish and suspicious sight he cut; the man stood very still in his tracks, facing her.
the light lit her eyes into brilliant blue gems, a fitting coronation for the storm-chased creature; garait became keenly aware that this was the first woman he had met since arriving in this strange land, and felt strangely deferential; tailtip flicking at his heels, he sought to appease her noiselessly in the tongue of their kind.

hope it's okay if I pop in?

Now that her wounds were in better shape and she had food in her system she was more lively. The borders beckoned to her and so she left the den and began the first patrol she had taken since her return. It was pleasant, loping along the borders and leaving her scent amongst the other's. Her muscles were singing at the way she pushed herself into a run only stopping when...

She saw the brute standing a bit off the borders bristling and Keoni was just ahead of her. When the pallid female took off again illecebra moved forward, her golden hawk like eyes peering at the silent male curiously. Unlike keoni she made a warning, a slight curl of her lips as she rubbed her sides against a tree marking her scent while staring at him.

The man stilled in his tracks, as did she, falling motionless a moment after he did. His movements were not threatening, rather, appeasing, and her own tail began to move at her hocks in careful benign interest, ears perked. She saw his eyes now, glowing with a colour she would have likened to seafoam had she ever seen the sea. She took half a step forward, the man beyond their borders suddenly become intriguing, when Cebra arrived at her rear and took a threatening stance. This she noted with a flick of her ear, though her own easy stance did not change.

before garait could ask the she-wolf for introductions, a new creature appeared, this one fierce with a hawk's hunting glare and a cream mask. the lift of her lips and the aggression with which she drew her flanks across the nearby trees was a clear warning to the gaul. and it was one he would heed. while he was more than curious about the sacred stones, he had venextos of which to think — it would not do the brothers well if one of them were injured in their wanderings.
the ocean of his eyes fell first on the posturing wolf, then to the kinder demeanor of the first. but the brennus would not try his luck. he was not a man of words; he had no sly tongue with which to wheedle.
but neither did he wish to leave — not yet.
backing slowly away from the pair, broad paws leaving their indentations in the snow, garait shook out his ruff and swung his tailtip at his hocks again, sure to keep his broad muzzle low, his stance deferential.

Normally Cebra probably wouldn't have been so territorial right off the bat but she had just gotten home and the lingering memory of how her babies were supposed to be in their den made her wary of strangers.

As he backed away she gave a simple nod of her head satisfied by this show of respect and lowered her tail, uncurling her lips. Now she studied him with a calmer gaze and looked to Keoni for a moment. She supposed it was safe enough to move on...besides she had made her point and warning clear. Walking toward Keoni she passed the girl and looked over her shoulder "if you need anything call...I'll run right back" she said quietly and then continued on her way.
