The beast was digging his den out beneath a tree felled by old age and decay only a minute west from the place of meeting. After the departure of the lupine duo, he was left with the older females, both injured as he'd found when he'd inhaled their scents at the meeting of words he did not understand; but he already knew his role. To keep them safe was easy enough, but from what? He supposed his scent and presence alone could deter even the boldest. Mixed with the scent of wolf blood...none would dare enter for fear of him.
Only the truly stupid would.

He formulated a plan to fend off ones who may try to enter without his permission and to fulfill his promise to Cry. He dug with another bount of energy as his plan formulated. It was late in the season to be digging a den and perilously close to his hibernation, but he could make it. He could stave off the calling for a few weeks; he would seldom exit his den to try and find something to eat as a small snack but only on the warmer days. Otherwise, he'd keep to his den undisturbed for the winter until the early spring just as the snow thaws.

When he finishes his first task, his next would be to line his den. Few did this but he did, often dragging in leaf litter to surround himself in. He tilted his head skywards to pause again in his thoughts of his plan. For a bear, one could say he had a developed mind and a strange sense of morality. It came to him with the stealth of a panther, a thought to warrant all others. And to him, it seemed to be the best plan on offer.

To kill a wolf and use its blood to scent the borders with his own. Of course, not one of the dark king's pack -- but an outsider. One that didn't matter to the dark-king. Or to Kovertol.
With that, he set out on his short quest, if he failed he would find another way.
Oooooo Kovertol is sooo DARKKKK muhahahah. Now the big question is, who wants to offer themselves up?? Not expecting a reply to this thread but will leave open for a few days incase
"Common." "Ursine."
