The coast was an interesting place, but Nunataq's excitement for some novelty in her life was dampened by the fact that there was not much food around. It was a day or two, since she had come this far, and inbetween sightseeing and sleeping, the rest of the hours were spent in a relentless search for something to fill her growling belly.

And nothing had come up, which made the girl leave the area with an air of disappointment and head more inland, to see, if, perhaps, this stretch was of more use than the sand, rocks and saltwater on the opposite side.
I hear the drums echoing tonight

Let's assume this is before he officially leaves the Rift!

Embry was drawn away from the ocean today. It was a rare moment for the man, who had grown up along the seashore. But in all honesty, had he really? As a boy, he had fond memories of the sand. But now, what was he but a castaway? Someone who had merely returned to find that what they had left so many moons ago was still there; was still the same. Someone who came to realize that it was themself that had changed.

He was moving along now with an uncharacteristically detached kind of lope. It was the gait of pensive unease; restlessness reigned into paws that were, alas, only mortal. And he trudged along in deep thought for much of the day, without so much as a glance back at the shore.

When he saw the familiar girl, he believed he was only dreaming. It was amazing, after all, how the world could find just what you needed sometimes. And he definitely needed something - anything - to keep him from thinking about who he had become. So he picked up speed and, remembering their past encounter, emit a jovial bark in greeting.

I stopped an old man along the way,
hoping to find some long forgotten words or ancient melodies.
He turned to me as if to say,
"Hurry boy, it's waiting there for you".

Food was not in sight, but Nunataq soon caught something a lot better. She had not forgotten the golden-pelted giant, who had bested her at sparring all those weeks ago. It may be assumed (though - shush, don't tell Nuna, if you do not want to get your ears boxed) that this was the first guy she had a crush on. Or he simply had managed to gain her liking and respect by being cool.

Anyway, she recognized him from afar and in full speed loped to meet him. Were they to crush mid-way or manage to hit brakes in the last moment is up for fate to decide. Either way - it was very obvious that the girl was very, very happy to see the fellow.
