All Welcome
it had been, what, a few days now. a few weeks? she had joined Stormrift, sought out their leader, and had done her job well. patrols were made. socializing was lacking, yes, but she made it work. when she grew bored of the coast, she wandered outward. met other people. Eastwood. Aditya. Kory. Dawn... people who had shaped her decisions. they had all need of a home, a place to belong. she knew not what the future held, only that she desired to make them proud.

and while she may not know them well, she treasured each and every interaction. they weighed on her mind as she did this solo patrol, walking along Stormrift's border. a home was something to dream of and to make for oneself. Heloise had lived in Stormrift for a few weeks now but she did not feel it was 'home'. more of her playing house until something better suited came along. it was not fair to Ford, their leader, but she suspected he knew. she had already said her loyalty was hard earned.

the pale woman would turn, refreshing the border scent casually before moving on. whether another approached her, or if she saw anyone else, was unknown currently.

it was velen who caught sight of the scarred creature, the wraith who moved in newness and an aloof elegance along their marine borders. he had watched her for some time before opting to approach, for her ghostliness both intrigued and chilled him.
like ford, the woman was striking in visceral ways, and the ceto wondered from where she had come. it was not long before he closed the distance between them, lowering his muzzle affably to sound a friendly chuff across the small expanse as not to have his intentions for company misinterpreted.

Heloise's steps were interrupted, though the intrusion was not hostile. her eyes shifted to look at the other before her head dipped to the man. he approached a bit cautiously as if unknown she would receive him. "greetings" she'd reply, tired of the silence between them. she had no reason to act suspiciously toward him. they were packmates from the scent. it meant he resided in Stormrift; he was no intruder. "would you care to join my patrol?" the woman would ask. if he did, there would be ample time to speak. it was a bit lonesome to patrol by herself.

"i would," velen murmured softly, slipping forward to join the pale woman. when they had presumably begun to move again, he keeping pace with her, the boy let some time pass before speaking. "i'm velen. how are you settling?" stormrift was a quiet place, he had found, but the bond of the three brothers was true and hardy enough to have withstood many tests thus far. hoping this one would stay around, and not fade away as those had done before her, velen fell silent again, eyes searching the borders for any sign of movement.
