Shadewood we are made of starstuff

deku was fortunate to know such love and devotion from his mother. though she did not restrict his limited attempt at exploration, she encouraged the idea that he would witness some extraordinary things when that time came. of course, to the pale boy, he could hear nothing that she offered him. when minori scooped him up and placed him between her paws, young deku released a surprised cry that seemed to carry a hint of delight within it. you see, the boy knew that he was safe beside her. he knew that this was someone who would tend to him no matter what he might do. he was fortunate to know her.
 
the dark-tipped child bobbed his head before worming his way along her forelimbs and finding a cozy position at her chest. it was here that he sighed quietly, breathing in the muddled scents of her coat and the den. in time, his sense of smell would grow stronger, but in that moment she was all that there was for him to know. deku buried his nose into the thick fur at her chest.
