Shadewood we are made of starstuff

the young boy was moved rather swiftly from his comfort cushion. he squeaked in protest, kicking his arms and legs vigorously as he was moved away from the warmth that his mother provided for him. this was not pleasing to the pale young creature. his mouth opened pitifully and cried in high-pitched, desperate pleas to be put back where he had been before. it did not take long before his world was uprooted once more. without word of warning or a second breath, deku was rolled onto his backside.
 
there was a moment of comical error where the newborn seemed to believe that he could still right himself. his limbs did not cease to circle. it looked almost as though he was attempting to swim in his upside-down state. when his mother leaned in to tease at his stomach, deku squalled loudly and wobbled back and forth like a turned turtle. it would have been hard to tell if the noise was joyful or terrified – even for him.
