She had explored as far west and south as she was willing to go. Now it was time to explore what lay on the other side of the mountains. Perhaps there she would find additional members for the growing army.
She scaled the ridge, pawsteps careful, knowing one false move could be her death. A few times a chunk of stone broke free of the earth, causing her to have to quickly step backwards as the volcanic rock tumbled noisily down. From here she could survey the land below her, and a particular valley caught her eye. Interesting....it was pretty, and well secluded.
