He eased his stride on stepping beyond the threshold of his Hushed Willows, eager to drink deep the sights to the North that he hadn't cared to pay attention to in his youth. When last he'd exited his home in this direction, Sundance had gone as swiftly as his limbs would carry him. He'd ran and ran and ran until his lungs burned, until his paws were made raw, until he ached in every way possible.
As the sun began to set that late afternoon, proof of the shortening days that came with Winter's approach, the silverwhite stopped on the ridge to rest. The terrain there was rugged, he found, and couldn't recall if he'd crossed it before he found himself lost in the hinterlands. Sundance managed to find a comfortable spot on the farthest reaches, safe and sheltered and where he could watch the sky's bleeding hues as it welcomed the night.
He lay down to rest there for a time, and wondered if @Teya would have chosen to follow him.
