Nakida couldn't quite remember the last time she's visited the beach, but it couldn't have been that long ago. The smell of rotten seaweed and salt-licked air was far to fresh on her nose to forget.....ah! Now she remembered! A time four moons ago when she was still rolling in her own baby fat, racing along the shores with her dozen or so siblings, chasing crabs and pretending to be fearsome pirates of the deep-blue depths. The present, however, was a little more warped than this -- her baby fat was present, but nor as much as before. Most of the pudge she had as a kid disappeared in place of muscle and womanly curvature. Her voice cracked often in peak of her puberty, and independence became more of a need rather than a fleeting thought.

Oh, and screw chasing crabs. Kida found chasing these fat blubbering seals way more entertaining.

The more they moved, the quicker she circled to nip at their flippers, and this went on for what seemed like a good ten minutes or so -- with the sounds of seal barking and evil childish laughter filling the air.

"Herding instincts", she supposed...
