any of the holcan are welcome to cameo, or they can simply be pped by Ku-

After so lengthy of a time apart, Ajtzak found it far past due to catch up with he who was his friend of many years.

Upon finding @Kukulkaan, along with whichever holcan escorted him on this morn', an offer for a midmorning stroll was given.

Assuming that his brother would not decline, Ajtzak would gladly lead the way and eagerly begin conversation.

I take it my brother is pleased with his new home? Ah, at last — the truth of their bond is spoken aloud. I've taken time to explore the canyon. Admittedly, it is far more spectacular than I had thought it might be.

brother.

a long time anyone has called ajaw that.

ajaw lets ajtzak take the lead, as this was his conversation. ajaw is patience; content to listen, despite that a question is asked.

the earth song is strong here, a wild, siren symphony that only ajaw can hear, they suspect. it is enough to hold their ground despite the press of neighbors from nearly all sides.

tikal were warriors and traders, yes, but ajaw has conveniently, for the sake of peace, left out the skill: conquerers. ajaw is not worried.

this one will not he swayed from this place despite what the neighbors think.

kukulkaan & my writing are entirely experimental.
can be assumed he is speaking in yucatec mayan to his holcan; mayan will be denoted as speech. any of the holcan is welcome in all of ku's threads.

Struggles had been found, but Kukulkaan has made it known that he will not be swayed from what he had been brought here to do.

Ajtzak is here now. I will help in whatever ways I am able. He would promise his friend.

He who was once friend, and now ajaw—Ajtzak knows that this had been his fate. To be here and walk at this man's side.

ajaw is reminded of cubhood, looking at ajtzak; of time spent training with him. honing their body and mind; carrying the weight with them of what they truly were but not yet knowing the full weight while the feathered serpent slumbered dormant.

until it was awoken by the muk nal. the place where the mortal k'uk' bahlam went to die so kukulkaan could be awoken and 'reborn' in their flesh and blood.

this one thanks you, ajaw speaks, a soft smile tugging at the edges of their lips.

a small pause, the last moments before ajaw segues the conversation in the direction they desire.

how was your travels?

How was your travels?

A question he does not dread; but he is not fond of it either.

They were well enough. Too many days, though.

He was only glad that he arrived when he had. Even a day longer would have been maddening.

unlike the holcan, ajtzak is not forthcoming on what he has seen during his travels to the redsand canyon.

and that is not what ajaw would trust him with, anyway. still, a cursory question offered all the same; in case there had been anything to share.

what role would you like to take in this revival? ajaw inquires next; gaze settling on the red rock for a moment before traveling back to ajtzak. would you train the young? or those new to tikal?

Truthfully, he hadn't thought much of this. But he did know where his preferations lay. Children weren't always his strong suite. It would be best to stick elsewhere.

Brother should know I do not fancy the young, nor do they fancy me. Usually, he would use the excuse that he was too physically much for them. But perhaps it was something else entirely.

S'pose I would be more inclined to work with those newer.

this one has known, ajaw replies in a contemplative hum that turns mischievous. but things have a way of not staying the same.

ajaw feels it themselves in the desire to further their own holy lineage; going beyond the expected.

very well, ajaw murmurs with a nod of their head. if you do not feel it is a task set for you at any point, come to this one. it wasn't the end all, be all and ajaw is confident they can carve out a niche for ajtzak.
