The carcass which herself and Faust had taken down a few days prior was nearly gone now. Picked away at by scavengers along with Dione returning every so often, you could barely tell that it was once a caribou.
Laid beside it on the lower part of the rise, she chewed on a bone that was once part of a leg. She knew that by now she should be gone, it was the principle of the matter, but her interest was held here. She was not yet ready to leave.
It had been a long time since she settled in one place for any amount of time, but she knew that she missed it. The chore of keeping up territory, the careful management of a growing pack, it was all something she missed dearly. But her own pack was long gone now, destroyed by a single border scuffle killing her mate. She could have kept going, she still had her children, and yet Dione had left.
Now here she laid, alone.

A break from the glacier - from the clash of warriors - was sorely needed. Satori's paws carried her down a trail laid by Faust, senses heightened for any sign of Winsook or the caribou killers that may cause her trouble. Her attempt at forging an alliance had fallen short, and the priestess wished not to bring upon herself the ensuing awkwardness another rendezvous would likely bring.
It seemed she would not be so lucky today.
"Ayovi-?" her voice drifts across the rise to a figure of white hunched besides an old kill. The distance betrayed her, cheeks flushing as she awaited the mountain woman's icelike glare to find her.

The voice of a stranger hit her ears and made them twitch. Lifting her head she spotted her swiftly. Blonde, petite, and frozen in place.
Pardon? She raised an eyebrow, remaining in place. They had called her an unfamiliar name, she must have resembled someone familiar momentarily.

Her voice was different, her cadence rough where the Ice Queen's was smooth and hollow. All at once, Satori realised she'd been swept up in old paranoia and mistaken this woman for someone she was not.
"Apologies," she swept closer, her head bowed though her gaze remained fixed on the stranger ahead. The crunch of splintering bone had halted, to the Priestess' relief, though a faint trace of Faust clung to the scattered remains. Had this woman stole from his kill? The thought had her spine bristle. "Satori, Priestess of Darukaal. And you must be...?"

Strange girl. She seemed so coy.
Something about this felt awkward to her. Dione never had issue speaking to other's, but she was far from oblivious. Tension was a wall of steam to her, just as it was for anyone else.
Dione. She responded, pushing herself to a stand.
Are you looking for someone? With the strange meeting, she had to guess as such.
