Kekoa knew better than to stay where he was not welcome, and yet he had lingered on the borders like a vile parasite waiting for his next victim. That delerious boy had done little to sway him.

He was owed this. The universe had promised her, and if Kekoa could not deliver that would surely be what would lose him his eyes. He needed her, he needed for this to run its course and her compliance. If Kekoa lost his eyes, he would have nothing.

Staring through the lines of trees, he caught a glance of pale fur. Was it her, or was it the other pale-coated woman who wandered the forest? Squinting trained eyes, his answer came the moment she turned her head. Those eyes, clouded yet carrying a heavy stare, were unmistakable.

Kekoa supposed that knowing her name would be helpful. She was alone, in his sights, but he was no prince charming nor a hardened criminal.

The blind woman, frozen, called out suddenly "Sam, is that you?"

Kekoa shrunk back, maybe by instinct, and quickly found himself questioning who Sam was. She seemed to know he was there, but not who he was. It was hard not to feel a little insulted. When he finally lifted his head to get another look, she had disappeared into the trees once more.

Dammit.

Kekoa suffers with psychosis due to a consistent usage of hallucinogens'. Not everything he is described seeing, hearing, etc. is accurate to reality.
