Steady. Don't wanna move too...
Snap.
...fast, she cursed to herself silently.
The badger turned, beady eyes shining with suspicion and dirty nose wrinkling in the air. Uki froze, not even daring to breathe as she waited.
The badger disappeared into the brush at a fast waddle, growling in alarm. Uki shot after it before it could disappear completely, finding herself face to face with a snarling badger as she burst through the foliage.
With an outraged growl of her own as its claws found hold near her eye, leaving a gash that was dangerously close to one of the moonlight orbs, the berserker snapped her overly long fangs in its face. She swiped at it with a paw and within moments, it had barreled away into the forest - injured but not enough to meet its end.
With an agitated whip of her feathery tail, Uki followed after the badger - sniffing the ground with hopes of picking up its scent again.

"And you're tired of not being strong."
News of her sister’s death has sent her spiraling. She makes the decision to confine herself within the borders for a time, not trusting the way her head spins as if she’s falling when she lets her thoughts wander too far from her. The yearling has dealt with death before, but somehow this time is no easier than the first. She feels far away and featherlight, a bone-deep chill rooting in her body.
The scent of blood tethers her back to reality, if barely. She lifts her muzzle slightly, breathing it in, and turns toward the source. It mixes with the scent of a packmate before long, then that of a badger — it doesn’t take a genius to piece it together. She’s not certain she’s up to the task, but she quickens her pace nonetheless until she catches sight of the pale woman. She recognizes her — she’d brought a recruit to the borders not long ago.
She chuffs as she draws nearer, resisting the urge to wince at the sight of the blood pouring from a gash on her face.

You’re hurt,She murmurs though she knows the woman can't understand her, taking a breath. She knows a few basic herbs, enough to keep a wound from infection, but she’s never been fond of the practice. She’s not necessarily bothered by blood, but fondling wounds makes her a bit… queasy.

Uki is entirely to focused on finding the badger, the approach of another pack mate is completely unsuspected. When the woman does appear, rather suddenly, seemingly from nowhere as the tundrian tracks her wounded prey - the berserker startled visibly, lips peeling back over saber-like fangs.
Once realizing it's a pack mate, Tapeesa settles, chuffing as if to say Oh, it's only you. She recognizes the girl from the borders at least, but Uki still only speaks the northern tongue.
She shakes her head at the English words and lowers her nose to the ground again as she searches for the scent of badger. After finding some droplets of blood, she barks hoarsely to the girl as if to tell her come along if you wish, but I've got food to catch.
Silver eyes glinted at Alessia from the darkness, waiting to see what the southerner would do.

The woman is startled at first, lips peeling back, but she takes no offense to the reaction. It seems she isn't interested in medical attention, either — strange. Instead she's focused on the scent of the badger still strong in the area — at her bark, the bemused yearling decides she may as well join in.
So she moves towards the northerner with little hesitation, ready to follow her. They may have no understanding of each other, but she supposes any being understands food — the need to hunt. And she certainly understands the need to kill the bastard that hurt you.

Uki nods as the woman moves to follow with a bemused smirk. She makes no move to speak, given they won't understand each other, turning silently and loping into the forest. The blood thins away and the droplets aren't easy to see in the dark but the scent is there for those able to find it.
Uki hummed softly, turning to the girl and gesturing to a blurred print in the mud - showing the girl how to track if she cared to learn. She took up the path again, crouching amidst the tall grass as they came upon the badger.
