hihi @Piper kubo needs friend so he stops crying 25/8 :^(
Unbeknownst to young Kubo, his journey had led him to the very place that started it all—where history truly began for him.
His recent travels had been kind to him, offering him freshly abandoned carcasses and small game that he’d finally figured out how to hunt. He was filling out, though not in any way that a boy his age should; he lacked a large, muscular build, being made instead of lean muscle—a graceful creature, he was sure to be someday. But for now he was trapped in that awkward stage between child and adult, leaving him gangly and, at times, clumsy; this was especially true when he encountered unfamiliar terrain, such as the sands of the shoreline.
Kubo was uncertain of the land, unaccustomed to the way the earth spread apart and caved beneath the weight of his steps at some points, but peaked between his toes at others. It was an odd sensation, nothing could convince him to think otherwise, yet he was oddly at peace with being there. It was almost as if he was meant to be there, on that shore, gazing out over the ocean.
It awoke something within him but, before he could linger on it, the sound of distant... barking, maybe? Whatever it was, it caught his attention and lured him closer to the sea, searching for the beast capable of making such noises.
