The air had been feeling different lately. No longer was it filled with warmth during the day. The sun still shone as always, but now there was a new edge in the air. Biting. Sharp. It sliced through his dark fur, down to the skin. Many a night Saviguk found himself forced to curl up in a tight ball, or huddled close to his immediate family for added warmth. While his coat had begun to thicken, he had no idea what these changes meant, or any concept of the harshness of winter to come.
Curiously, the leaves on the trees had begun to change color too, he noted. Where once vibrant greens reigned, now a dazzling rainbow of reds, yellows, oranges and browns took its place. He frowned at the ground, noticing so many of the leaves scattered there at his paws. Was this...normal? He took a step or two and slipped, landing hard on his backside. No one told him that leaves could be slippery! He grimaced at an odd feeling between his toes. Great, now he had an acorn wedged between his pads too!
