The young princess felt something that had been smoldering in her brain the past several days.
Boredom.
Though she didn't yet understand it completely, she knew she wanted to do anything but rest in this damn den.
Decidedly, Sovereign stood up and began a determined infant march towards the light that shone from outside.
A brave little thing, she was.
But Mother had other plans.
A warning rumble froze Sovereign in her tracks.
Not yet the rumble communicated, to which Sovereign protested with a grumpy baby growl.
Gentle jaws pinched lightly into her nape and carried her back to her siblings, where the princess was gently placed back next to her littermates before her Mother placed herself in the entrance, blocking the only way out with an air of guardianship.
Sovereign begrudgingly nestled back into the puppy cuddle puddle, and eventually fell into a restful sleep.
