Kekoa was glad to rest, having been plenty busy since his arrival to Saatsine. It was not the harmonious community he expected from a pack and with the bits and pieces of information he had gathered it was difficult to put together why that was. The wolves that were part of the pack previously on the river had made the choice to stay with Sun Eater he assumed - just as he had.

However now was not the time to worry about such things. Laying his head down and shutting his eyes, Kekoa soon drifted into a deep sleep. His breathing gentle and his muscles relaxing, his exhaustion was clear. Mind drifting away from the Teekons, he was returned to simpler times.

"Kekoa!" He heard a familiar voice call out and his ears twitched, but his eyes did not open.

"Kekoa!" They called out again, a twinge of annoyance in their voice. This time he lifted his eyelids, spotting the source; Kaisaan Le. His brother. A smile crossed his muzzle as he saw the dark-furred brother, the brother who could only appear in his dreams. He was filled with love and regret all at once. However, Kaisaan was in a rush - there was no time for Kekoa to reminisce. "Come on - get up already. You promised we would go out to the forest today."

Kekoa had experienced this dream many times before, and it was the same each time; he would enter the forest with Kaisaan, pretend to either patrol or hunt, and they would return safe and sound. It was the only comfort that his conscience would allow him. A walk through the forest with his late brother. He could follow and listen, but he could not speak.

Nodding to the other he raised to his feet, following Kaisaan into the forest surrounding the home he was born into. It seemed that today would be a patrol; a walk through the newly falling autumn leaves, Kaisaan running ahead every so often to chase one. Kekoa couldn't help but feel his optimism.

Kaisaan paused his running to turn around, grinning at Kekoa. A creak sounded out. "Kekoa, come on! You're falliing behind," he snickered. A crack. Kekoa felt his legs pause their movement. Another crack. His eyes flicked up to the trees, the old maple leaning sideways. A snap. The tree fell, hurling towards Kaisaan. Kekoa found himself able to vocalize for the first time; a scream.

He awoke with a start, claws gripping the ground under him and ears pinned. His breathing heavy, he stared forward with wide eyes.
Kekoa suffers with psychosis due to a consistent usage of hallucinogens'. Not everything he is described seeing, hearing, etc. is accurate to reality.
