After receiving directions from the small bird that she had met, Sankori was well on her way towards her destination. The Emberwood was a beautiful place complete with Aspen trees with snow trickling off of them as the slight ray of the sun glistened off of the snow, generating a sparkle. There were many animals here who seemed unaware of her presence.

He covered ground at a steady lope, clods of snow flung from out underneath each churning limb. As he neared a razed forest he slowed and stopped at the cusp of the forest. Ahead a wolf like figure prowled.
She was a soft cream color with strains of ruddy hues. From his vantage he could not decipher her intentions. Silently he followed her progress, making no effort to conceal himself.

Sankori overheard soft footprints hit the ground behind her and slowly turned around to face whoever it was. Looking at the male, he resembled like a wolf of sorts but no, he wasn't. Much smaller this creature was. "Hello." She says questioning if the stranger would speak.

his approach did not remain unnoticed. the pale wolf turned about in a composed manner, her soft eyes resting upon him without reproach. ich'aak's ears pulled forward in interest as she spoke a plaintive word he did not fathom. while his expression was free of any sort of posturing or aggression, he did not rejoin with any sort of audible dialogue.
she seemed alone, a fact that might have emboldened ich'aak's proximity to her. with one ear turned in her direction the coyote started to skim the snow with his thin muzzle, searching for any vole cross-ways beneath the snow.

Sankori waited there in silence. It seemed that the male delivered no effort to attempt at a conversation. Perhaps he didn't understand her. "Do you speak English?" She thought that she might as well ask.

his long nose cut through the snow like a shark-fin, riffling for any detectable life under the cloak of snow. behind him the female spoke and he carefully lifted his snow-covered muzzle towards her, his gaze resting ambivalently on her features.
she did not utter a single thing he understood, and he fixed her with a silent gaze that seemed to suggest her words were lost upon him.

It was clear now that the man knew nothing she said. Sankori flicked her tail in greeting, she was taught by her mother body language. She struggled to recall it though, she looked down at the snow as she pawed it gently.

it seemed she finally understood the nature of the barrier that stood between them. ich'aak looked upon her carefully, noting the sudden fling of her tail. quietly he rearranged his body so that he stood square across all four limbs, and he lowered his head once before his ropy tail swung upright behind him and he dropped his chest in a silent play bow.
he did not wait for her reaction before he scampered off through the snow -- she could give chase, or not -- either way, he carried on at a spirited lope with his nose sampling the variety of scents around them.
