Things were changing left and right within the pack and Pema was not up to date. Some things it was easy to pretend like she knew what was going on, but these changes were big. New people were showing up and others had seemingly disappeared to her. Aviana had risen in the ranks and Pema had no idea why. Not that she didn't deserve it, she was just so far out of the loop that it came as a surprise to her.

She went searching that day for Aviana want to speak with her about all the changes within the pack and also to simply speak with her. They were both mothers of children around the same age. Pema had 4 kids but any amount of kids was a lot of work, and with Aviana's no for responsibilities, Pema wanted to check up on her mental state.

Aviana was still surprised about her own rise in the ranks. It had come about quickly, and even though she had volunteered, it still felt weird to her to be the leader. She hoped to give Sunny enough responsibility to realize his own potential, and to be sure that when he took over leadership, he was ready. 

Her gaze searched the area before her, not really for anything in particular, but they fell on Pema. Her tail wagged and she chuffed a greeting to let the other woman know she was here. She glanced at Faye, who was playing by herself for the moment, before she decided to close the gap between Pema and herself, leaving her daughter out of earshot.
